Soccer

The boys are officially playing soccer! Derek is coaching them and I found out that it is never good to have dad coach your child's introduction to sports. They had so much fun and did so well during the practice at the beginning. The problem came when they had to play the actual game. They are very good at sharing and believe that everyone will share with them. Isaac had the ball at kick off and someone kicked it away from him so he fell on the ground and started to cry, because "it was my turn to score a goal." At the same time someone knocked Ethan over and he started to cry. Derek said to them I think you should sit out so that your teammates can play and they refused to leave the field, and they just lay there, because it was daddy. So I had to walk on the field drag Isaac off while holding Lizzie and Derek was dragging Ethan off. I tried to explain the game to them better, where our team always needs the ball so we can score, and we try to take it away from the other team. We are going to watch their older cousins play next week so hopefully they will understand better.

New Camera

I just updated my camera! The old one was starting to have horizontal lines in the pictures. The new one looks exactly the same as the old but it is 7 mp instead of 2 mp. We went to the zoo on Friday with my sister and mom and so of course I had to take pictures. So here are some pictures with the new camera.

Lizzie's check up

Tuesday Lizzie had her 6 month check up; even though she is almost 7 months now. She was a little sick and had fluid in her ear so Dr. Gunther is going to have me bring her in next week to give her shots. She is 17lbs (which is 55%), 37" tall (90%), and her head is 17 3/4" circumference (which is 95%). So she is long and skinny with a big head. "Thanks daddy!" Dr. Gunther thinks she is very smart because she focuses so well and gives so much attention to daddy, which most kids think daddy is chopped liver at this age. She is already daddy's little girl. She gets this amazingly cute grin on her face and her hand move all over the place almost like she is clapping when she sees mommy or daddy smiling at her. The one word to describe it is cheesed.

Lizzie has teeth

All of a sudden a couple of weeks ago Lizzie got her first tooth. Then 1 week later she got 2 more that broke through, and there is one more about to emerge. So now she has a toothy smile.

Denver Zoo

Derek had to go to Witchita, Kansas for work last week and while he was gone if the boys were good we would be able to go to the zoo on Saturday. There were pretty good so we made good with our promise and went to the zoo. We had a lot of fun and Sunday we found out that Grandpa was at the zoo too with some of his students. He was on the other side so we never saw him. We got a membership so expect a lot of pictures from the zoo.

Lizzie and Julia

Lizzie and Julia are cousins. They are 4 months apart and they are so cute together. I just thought I would share how cute they are.

Lizzie is 6 months old!

I can't believe how time is flying. Lizzie is already 6 months. About 3 weeks ago she had croop and we had to take her to the doctor. They gave her a steroid and the cough got better but she is still coughing. She is such a little trooper. She also is having problems again with her tummy. She is eating rice cereal and applesauce but that is it other than the formula; so I am not sure what she might be allergic to. She was crying throughout Sunday school and Relief Society at church on Sunday. I was telling everyone that I think she is going to be a singer because she can cry so loud. Yet, she is still so cute and still sleeps well. Her eyes have really gotten more blue and her hair lighter blond. This picture, although blurry, shows her blue eyes. She actually looks alot like her cousin Elsie on Derek's side of the family.

Lizzie is almost 5 months old!

On Monday Lizzie will be exactly 5 months old already! It is so funny how it seems like she is growing so quickly and this whole cancer thing has been going so slowly. It feels like she was just born and I have been dealing with this cancer forever. At least that part is almost over and things are looking well. Lizzie is such a great daughter. She sleeps through the whole night every night. She loves to stand on her little feet instead of bend her knees. She also loves to sit in her Lion Heart seat and her bouncer thing. She can even almost sit up on her own for 5 seconds before falling over. She focuses on everyone's face and she really smiles and moves her whole body when she is happy. At her 4 month appointment she was 15 lbs which is 75% for girls and around 28" in hieght which is 90% and her head is 80%; so she is a wonderfully big baby. But hey at least it helps her sleep through the night so well. I will have to post pictures later since I have no recent ones on this laptop.

Bounce!

The boys have a marble jar for the good things that they do; and they filled it to the prize jar. So on the 29th we were able to do something fun with them that they chose. It was going to Bounce! a indoor inflatable jumping place. It took me forever after Bounce to find my camera that had these pictures and our Christmas pictures on it. I was worried that someone stole the camera at Bounce. Luckily it was wrapped in Lizzie's coat.

The boys absolutely loved it. They jumped for 45 minutes straight and then we went to Sonic and had a typical Child family picnic in the car and then we went back. Well Derek went back with them and I went to get something at a store that was in the same shopping center. It took 25 minutes to park and get to the store and then another 30 at the store waiting in line because there were so many people there. When I got back to the car I could not find a parking space or people leaving to take theirs; so I drove around again for another 30 or 40 minutes until I decided to park in the employee parking behind all of the stores. When I finally got back to Bounce the boys were so tired and there were so many kids there that Isaac bit another kids because he was walking all over him and Ethan wouldn't slide down the big slide so Derek had to go up there and get him, so we went home. Needless to say do not, I repeat do not go to a big shopping area the weekend after Christmas!!!

Merry Christmas

The boys loved Christmas. My friend Nolan came over on Christmas Eve Eve as Santa and they loved it. On Christmas Eve we went to Grandma and Grandpa's house and ate supper as Jesus would have. It was delicious! Then we open our traditional pajama presents and put them on. The boys could wait to go to home to see Santa bringing them presents. We told them that they had to be asleep when Santa came or he would come at all.
When they woke up the next morning it was starting to snow it actually snowed almost all day. We thought we would have to get up early but they actually slept in, close to 8! They both got a lot of construction toys and a Scooby-Doo and Shaggy costume. They put them on immediately!
