Isaac and Ethan are really loosing their teeth!!

Ethan has already lost 3 teeth this year and on September 14th he wiggled another tooth out. Isaac had all of the 4 bottom teeth come out, but yesterday the 14th of this month, in the middle of primary, he decided to start wiggling his top left front tooth and out it came. Both have had the tooth fairy leave a gold dollar!
I am trying to get Isaac to learn the song "All I want for Christmas is my two front teeth".

Halloween Fun!

This year I finally talked the boys into having our family do Alice in Wonderland together. Derek's mom had already made a queen of hearts dress, I found a mad hatter hat this summer and I reused Lizzie's Cinderella dress and covered it by making an apron. So Lizzie of course was Alice, Derek was the Mad Hatter, I was the Queen of Hearts, and the boys were Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum. The kid's had so much fun at our church's annual trunk or treat! We even got a prize for Best Family Costume!

Grandpapa & Grandma Joy's visit

We were able to have my dad and his wife Joy come and visit us for a day! We did a lot of fun things. First we watched the boys play soccer. Then we went to Longmont and ate the kid's all time favorite food pizza at Abbondanza. They have games that you can play while you wait for your pizza. We played a couple games of Jenga and a basketball game.
Then we went down the street to a pottery store where you paint your own pottery called Crackpots. The boys made plates and Lizzie made a hand print on dessert plates. They love painting!!! And I figured it would make them less hyper. After that we went across the street yet again to the donut shop, and then to a park. We had a lot of fun! When we got back home we were still so full from the pizza that we didn't really eat dinner. We played Mario Kart on the Wii, which is Isaac's favorite game right now. It was a lot of fun, hopefully we can go down there in January when Grandpa Frenchy has his 90th birthday!

Soccer in the Fall

Isaac

Ethan

Ethan and Isaac got to play soccer this year with their cousin AJ! They had a lot of fun! Isaac got really into it this year and improved a lot! Ethan improved as well, but wasn't quite as into it, but at least he had fun. He was done by half time.
What helped the boys get into it more this year is that the coach (JJ Long) encouraged them with $1 if they had the most goals, and at the end they got $1 if they had the most assists. My boys are already motivated by $! I think Isaac got $4 and Ethan got $3.

Lizzie's 3rd Birthday

Lizzie has had a lot of fun playing with her birthday presents! She got a doll house, that my friend Paula gave to me for her since her daughter is grown, ( I saved it for almost a whole year). Lizzie loves to sing so she got a microphone and she loves books as well so she got a Dora book. Her other favorite thing right now is princesses so she played with her cousin Julia for a whole day with Princesses!

The next day Ethan and Isaac decided to dress up in their very handsome church clothes so I had to take a picture!!

First grade

I was so scared to have the boys in different classes this year. Isaac is in Mrs. Duvall's class and Ethan is in Mrs. Pate's class. They are both doing tremendously well! There were no tears or even sad faces. Isaac has really grown in his own class and they don't have to worry about being called the twins; they are just Ethan and just Isaac.

Swetsville zoo

Today we went with McKenzie and her kiddos to the Swetsville Zoo. It was so amazing to see all of the creative sculptures that farmer Swets made out of scrap metal. There were some very clever sculptures. Ethan and Isaac loved the Roadrunner because they love it in Bugs Bunny movies. He even made his house out of putting together unique items. What a way to recycle! Thanks to McKenzie I have pictures, I actually forgot my camera (which Derek would reply, you never!)

A night at the Denver Aquarium!

I found out that on Friday nights at the Denver Aquarium you can get kid's meals for $1.99. For the last 3 years we have gone to the Aquarium but never ate there. So since they validated parking ($7) and the kid's got into the Aquarium for $5 instead of $10 and we got a $6 discount for the parents with the receipt from the restaurant. So, we decided to go for it. Derek decided that the kid's must try Calamari. They were fine with the ones that looked like fried shrimp but Ethan and Lizzie refused to eat the ones that had tentacles. Isaac loved it, because he was like a shark!

Then while I was taking the kids to watch the sharks on the other end of the restaurant Derek ordered the biggest dessert ever because it has the shark wafer on top. The boys did not want to wait for me to take a picture! Ethan said he ate so much of it that it gave him a tummy ache. It had hot fudge inside and caramel and chocolate drizzled on the plate, and ice cream on top.

This year they actually had something at the Aquarium that I had never seen in person. I read a whole bunch of books about sharks so I know a lot about the egg sacks but I never saw one up close. They had cut the front of the sack so that you could see the shark pup growing. It was so cool, but I was the only one really fascinated by it. Because we went so late there were not many people there but most of the fish and other animals were sleeping.

Playing at the Beach

My kids LOVE water and the sand box. So when they have the opportunity to go to a swim beach we could not pass it up! My friend McKenzie invited us to go to the Windsor beach and the kids had such a fun time. We made a sand shark and buried Isaac and McKenzie's cute daughter Kinley in the sand. I even made Isaac a merman.

The Rockies Game

This is the first time the kid's have ever been to a Rockies game. I thought it would be so much fun for them to see everything there is to see. But mainly they saw the cotton candy and Lemonade!!

In the bottom of the 6th Lizzie was getting a little antsy so I brought out my ipod for her to color on. Instead of watching the game Ethan kept wanting to play with the ipod. I was trying to get him interested in the game and he just kept asking why Lizzie was able to play on that while he didn't. I said, "she is little and this is not as much fun for her yet. So he told me, "Mom, Isaac and I don't like sports!"
Oh, well at least we tried. It was fun until that 6th inning. At least the Rockies won!!
