Soccer season ended in a fun note

I think Ethan and Isaac really got into soccer the last two games when they understood the pushing more and started making goals. The Saturday makeup game Isaac scored 3 times and Ethan scored once; then Monday Ethan scored 3 and Isaac scored twice. They are a whole head taller so they can really push their way to the ball. Grandma even came to see them play during Monday's game; and afterwards we went to 7-11 and got some Slurpee's since they did so well. Saturday's game we went to Cold Stone for ice cream.

Easter

It took me forever to upload the pictures from Easter but here is a video of Lizzie getting eggs that were left in our living room by the Easter Bunny. She got a beautiful pink dress from Grandma for church that she looked like a beautiful princess but I just couldn't get any cute pictures of her in it. Hopefully soon I can take some with the good camera!

Soccer

Last Saturday Ethan and Isaac started spring soccer. Last spring Derek was their coach but we thought maybe they would do better if this year he wasn't. The first Saturday of April was suppose to be their first day but it snowed and today they were suppose to play again but it has been raining continuously since Thursday afternoon; so far only last Saturday they have had a chance to play.

Since the boys are so tall and almost 5 they were a full head taller than some of the other kids on the 3-4 year old league. They were great at getting the ball, but it was keeping it in front of them that was hard. Isaac got the ball once on a straight away and trip on the grass. I promised them ice cream if they got a goal during the game, so Isaac, sneaky little man that he is, took the ball when it was out of bounce near another field's goal and made a goal in that field. I was so proud that they only fell to the ground and cried 3 times each, their getting better. Just like any 4 year old all they need is practice, but that's one thing they don't like to do!

After soccer last Saturday we had Ethan and Isaac's pre-school teachers, Mrs. Holmes and Mrs. Sheppard, over for dinner. They boys wanted pizza so pizza it was. They just get so excited when anyone comes over, so it was doubled because it was their teachers and they love their teachers.

Butterfly Pavilion

Last weekend Derek's sister Ashlee came to town with her husband and 2 boys, Collier and Brennan, that are close to Ethan and Isaac's age. Saturday Derek's family decided to go to the butterfly pavilion in Denver. Last time we went was in August when Derek's sister Megan was visiting and I was not able to do much after the transplant the month before. Where the butterflies are is very humid and I couldn't be in a humid environment then, so I enjoyed it a lot more this time. I even held Rosie the tarantula, since Ethan was excited about me doing it just like him. I had so much fun taking pictures this time of the butterflies.

An Amazing Child

Lizzie is just amazing. She is now 18 months old and talking up a storm. Saturday night I gave her a bath and I always after a bath put lotion on her and sing "Baby Massage" (I made it up for the boys when they were little), this time in the middle of singing I hear, "Baby assage" "Baby assage" she is nodding as she sings too. It was so hilarious. Then she starts laughing because I am laughing and I decide to change the sound of my laugh to see what she does, she then changes her laugh to match mine.

Every morning I also ask her if she is poopy and she usually nods but this time she said very poopy. She just keeps saying things that I didn't know she could say or ever knew.

Home Improvement and Random Stuff

I am getting excited about home improvement right now. Actually I just couldn't stand how dirty the old faucets got so I got new ones on Overstock. I am so proud that I was able to put them in without help.

This morning Lizzie was getting into the amoire and taking out all of the things in the bottom self, so much fun! She usually cleans but sometime she just is the best at making messes.

Ethan and Isaac love making funny faces so I thought I would capture them on camera. Ethan's in red, Isaac's almost always in yellow.

My Mom came up last week and loved having Lizzie lay in her lap and Ethan was so excited to be next to her so I took some pictures.

Lizzie's growing up

I just can't believe how fast Lizzie is growing up. On March 4th she will be 18 months! She is already repeating everything that we say. She is running and trying to do everything that the boys do. Since I always call them "the boys" she waddles after them and says, "boys, boys". She is starting to be so much like Derek's sister Ashlee. She loves to clean and pick up Ethan and Isaac's clothes. The other night I asked Isaac to put his clothes in the hamper and Lizzie went over and picked them up and put them in the hamper, then she went and took Ethan's. Last night Isaac was on the bed and was changing and putting his pj's on and before he could put them on Lizzie took the pj's to put them away and Isaac started to cry, so I asked her to give them back to Isaac and she turned around and gave it to him with a hug, which is a side headbutt. A while ago she helped me sweep out the garage and she threw a fit because I wouldn't let her bring the broom in the house, since it was the garage broom.

New Mural in the basement

The boys are really into sharks right now, and for Christmas they got a aquarium from their grandparents. Lizzie loves fish too. We had a Betta fish for a few weeks and named it Fee, because that is how she says fish, but it died after all that I could do for it. Anyway, since they don't go into their cubby in the basement very often I decided to change the mural into an ocean scene (it use to be the sky and mountains). It is so much fun to see the boys faces light up when they see a new creature that I put in there. Ethan really likes Mako sharks and Isaac loves big Great whites or Megladon's. So that is what I first made for them. I also made a hammerhead shark on the ceiling and jelly fish on the side wall. I have been making new creatures all the time, and they love to help me by putting glitter on everything and telling me what other creatures they want and where they should go.

We saw Santa at our church breakfast on Sunday. Ethan and Isaac were so excited, but Lizzie started crying when Derek tried to put her on his lap. There was also a little girl after us who was Lizzie's age and after Lizzie was crying she started crying too.

Snowman

We had a lot of fun today making a snowman in the front yard. Lizzie was running away every few minutes so it's pretty small, but hey it was fun. Isaac was so excited to put the eyes and nose on it. We even had a snowball fight in between.

Funny things our kid's say...

Lizzie was talking to "Isaac" on the phone; she started running around and said, "Isaac, Isaac, I know the way... the truth, and the life." The reason this is so funny is that she is learning the scripture John 14:6, "I am the way, the truth and the life. No man commeth unto the Father but by me."

Lizzie was playing phone with me today. She took two measuring spoons; I got one and she got the other.She started talking to me and I am talking back. Suddenly she says, "Mom, Are you talking to me?" "Yes, I'm talking to you.", then she says,"No, you're listening to me!" The reason I find that so funny is because I am often just listening to Lizzie.

Lizzie had a funny day today. This morning while taking a bath Lizzie said "I'm Ariel... and then started to sing like her, Aahhh aahhh aahhh.'

While walking to church this morning Lizzie wanted me to hold her, I said Lizzie are you a baby or a big girl, (in the past she will say without any cause, babies don't talk); so in her answer she said, "I talk so much!" Which just means she is a big girl, but it is so true.

In arriving home today from spending the whole day with my friend Steffanie Wright and her girls and by the time we got home Derek was already in the driveway. As we got out of the car Ethan said, "I hope dad made dinner for you mom, why don't you make dinner and daddy and I will have Ethan and daddy day."

Lizzie did not want Derek to go to work this morning. He told her, I have to go so I can make money so we can buy food. Lizzie replied, "we have food." Derek said, "well, I need to go so I can get you clothes." "I already have clothes" Then Derek said, "I need to go to work to buy toys for you guys" Lizzie perked up and said, "I would like a new crown!"

May 2, 2010 - Today in Church Lizzie learned about being obedient, she had made a sandwich bag puppet. When her teacher, sister Sigmon, told her "when you get home Lizzie tell your parents, I will obey". And Lizzie as stern as she can be said frankly, "No."

April 25, 2010 - I was getting ready for church and putting on my makeup and Lizzie was playing with a small mirror. I hear Derek laughing and so I looked down and saw that Lizzie had smeared my mascara all around her mouth. She looked like she was making herself have a mustache.

March 30, 2010 - Lizzie was having a bad night (not listening) she had to get a spanking. So as I was telling her alright Lizzie it's so sad you have to have a spanking" She said,"only a small one, like the itsy bitsy spider that crawled up the water spout." It was so hard to spank her after that.

December 20, 2009 – We woke up this morning to Lizzie shouting, “That’s my necklace, give it to me, that’s mine, Mr. bear, give me my necklace.”

November 30, 2009 – Isaac had an accident in the middle of the night and blamed it on Ethan. He was saying Ethan had an accident mom as he was changing his clothes. I asked him, why he was the one changing, and Ethan was still sleeping he said, he peed on my leg. When I asked him some more and said, “Isaac you are the one that is naked, why is that,” he finally said, “oh, okay it was me.”

November 26, 2009 - While at Aunt Ashlee’s house in Utah we watched the movie “Up”. In the movie the house was carried to South America by a lot of balloons. When Isaac saw the house detach he said, “Everything is breaking apart, he won’t have any internet.”

November 21, 2009 – Derek wasn’t feeling too good and when that happens he usually will eat orange juice straight from the can. Lizzie saw him and asked, “Can I have some?” she got some and then said “Can you have some after me?, then she kept going back and forth between those two statements.

November 20, 2009- Lizzie says things like a Jedi, when she wants something she says, “You want to give me a cookie.” And if she doesn’t she says, “You don’t want to change my diaper.”

November 19, 2009 – The kids were getting ready for bed, Lizzie was brushing her teeth just after Isaac was going to the bathroom; and just like most 5 year old boys he forgot to flush. I went into the boy’s room to help them hurry on getting dressed, when I went back into the bathroom to check on Lizzie she was dipping her toothbrush in the toilet, and brushing her teeth more.

November 16, 2009 – Whenever you ask Lizzie what color her eyes or hair are she says, “It’s pink”.

November 16, 2009- I was talking to a friend and commenting that Lizzie likes to dance and sing and Lizzie chimed in and said, “not dance, sing!”

November 14, 2009 – Derek was helping Isaac read “Star Wars, the Clone wars” and he was reading a line, “Anakin was feeling” and Isaac was having a hard time with the next word as Derek was repeating the line above and Lizzie inserted “happy” at the right spot. So Anakin was feeling happy.

November 2, 2009 – Lizzie has been complimenting me lately. It is so cute when I do something for her to hear her say, “You did a good job mommy.” She also is so good at saying Thank you mommy after getting something.

October 26, 2009 – Lizzie was having a hard time today. We watched the end of Princess Bride this morning and she started crying as hard as she ever has and pouted as she said, “Do you want to watch Princess bride again mom? She said it over and over again, as she cried and cried. It was so hard not to laugh at her.

October 25, 2009 – While eating dinner Ethan said his tooth was getting loose, when we took a look at it he already had a large permanent tooth growing behind it, and we never even knew. He is really close to loosing it.

October 15, 2009- At night we have the boys tell us some scriptures that they have memorized. We decided to have Lizzie repeat some scriptures. We started with John 14:15. As we started Lizzie repeated John 14:15 and then said,” If ye love me keep my commandments.” We had no idea she was listening when the boys were saying it.

October 7, 2009 – I was getting Lizzie from her crib as she was talking to herself like she always does. When I came in the room she was holding her feet and said, holding her left foot,” this one’s Jack”, and her right, “this one’s Annie.” I am reading the Magic Tree House to the boys and Annie and Jack are the main characters.

October 4, 2009 – at 9:00 p.m. we heard some talking and I assumed it was the boys talking to each other. As I went closer to their door, I heard Lizzie say;”Penny ate my chicken nuggets.” Penny is Aunt Tammy’s dog, who we dog sat back in July.

September 27, 2009- Daddy pulled out Isaac’s 1^st tooth!!! When Isaac finally let Daddy pull it he was not expecting it to come out so easy without pain so he asked, “did you get it?”

September 27, 2009- All of a sudden at the lunch table Lizzie says “aaaaah”. The rest of us said, aah what Lizzie? She replied, “aaah a crocodile”. We all started laughing because it was so unexpected, and a little like a knock, knock joke. It was funny when she said it…I guess you had to be there.

September 20, 2009 – Isaac has his first loose tooth! We had told Isaac stories of Grandpa pulling loose teeth a couple of days before and he didn’t want Grandpa to know that his tooth was loose. When we told Grandpa, he was so scared that Grandpa would pull out his tooth he cried and hid under the kitchen table and wouldn’t come out for a while.

September 20, 2009- When Lizzie toots she says “excuse my bottom.”

September 18, 2009- I took Lizzie with me to take pictures of the items for Super Saturday at church. There was no one in the building and Lizzie looked at me and in a serious expression she said “I hear the missionaries, the missionaries are coming.” I didn’t even know she knew the missionaries.

September 10, 2009 – My mom was changing Lizzie’s diaper a while ago and she was telling her she was poopy, and Lizzie said, “I might be a poopy guyrl but I’m a cute poopy guyrl!”

August 25,2009 – Lizzie was in the car asking for a sip of a drink that we bought and instead of saying drink she said, “ Let me have some ABCDEFG”

August 21, 2009 – I was making dinner and Lizzie was asking for her sunglasses. So, I told her I thought I saw it upstairs on my side of the room. After a small while she came back down wearing Derek’s glasses upside down, she smiled her big grin and said, “I found them!”

August 20, 2009 – Lizzie asked Daddy, “You were baptized in the potty?”

August 15, 2009 – While in the car Lizzie asked Derek for something in which he replied “I can’t right now kiddo I’m driving”. Quickly Lizzie said, ”I’m not kiddo, I’m Lizzie.”

August 2, 2009 - When I was doing Lizzie’s hair Ethan told her she looked pretty, and she commented, “yeah, I’m so beautiful.”

July 31, 2009 – Every morning when Derek leaves for work he gives each of the kids a kiss. This morning He gave the boys a kiss before Lizzie and as loud as she could she said, “kiss me daddy, kiss me!”

July 23, 2009 - We were talking about Lizzie’s birthday and Ethan asked Lizzie how old she was going to be on her birthday, She said she was going to be 6. She even started arguing with anyone that said she was going to be 2.

July 21, 2009 – We were reciting scriptures by each saying one word at a time. Moogie didn't remember the scripture, but when I pointed to Moogie, Lizzie spoke up and filled the correct word for her.

July 18, 2009 – Lizzie has been saying many words, pretty much if she can repeat it she can say it, like: Hippopotamus, and this one you have to break up for her but she can say it in pieces, supercalifragilisticexpialidocious. She is not even two!

July 18, 2009 – Ethan likes to play a game with everyone where he hides and we have to find him. Today he hid between the towels in his bathroom, and said mommy can you find me. So I went over to the towels and started tickling him and saying where could Ethan be. He peeks his head out and says, “Look at the thing that you are tickling.”

July 9, 2009 – Lizzie was looking at a bookmark that has a picture of Joseph Smith on it and she brought it to me and said, “David O’ Mckay”. When I told her it was actually Joseph Smith she said, "Joseph Smith O' Mckay".

July 9, 2009 – We were watching “Wipeout” an obstacle game show that has two men in suits that host it. Lizzie saw them and said “missionaries”.

July 4, 2009 - Derek was watching the annual 4th of July Hotdog eating contest with the kids. The winner Joey Chestnut ate 68 hotdogs in 10 minutes and after it Lizzie turned to Derek and said, "he says hotdogs are yummy!"

July 1, 2009 - I was coming home from cub scouts and Lizzie met me at the stairs, and in a happy way she said:"Mommy went to cub scouts." yes Lizzie I did go to cub scouts. Then Lizzie says "Cub scouts are older than Lizzie." I thought that Derek had talked with her than night while I was gone, but he didn't. She went to a Pack meeting last week and saw how big the scouts were and she remembered.

June 21, 2009 - Issac was playing with Legos and he came into my room with something he made; it was Tausha from "the Backyardigans" on her bed and under her bed he made toys. As he was showing it to me he said I'm going to clean her toys up now and he started to take off the lego pieces from under the large rectangle that was Tausha's bed.

June 21, 2009 - Lizzie was in nursery at church and they had singing time (her favorite) when they sang "I am a child of God" Lizzie said to Brother Slade, "my mommy sings this to me".

June 18, 2009 - Lizzie was looking at a book in the car like she always does (we have a stack of books behind the passanger's chair so that we don't run out of books for her) All of a sudden I heard her say, " Mommy, mommy utoh, I almost dropped my book."

May 19, 20009 - I was bending over putting away shoes in Lizzie's closet talking to my sister at the same time when Lizzie came in and pulled down on the top of my shorts a little and said "poopy mommy?" like I do to her to see if she is poopy; it was hilarious!

May 24, 2009 – The boys like to watch a tv show that Derek liked a while ago called the Tick. There is a bad guy on the show called 1 Ton and he has a puppet on his hand named handy, who talks for him and says things like “read a book people.” Lizzie watched it with the boys once and now when she wants me to read her a book she says, “read a book”, once she even said “read a book people”.

May 18, 2009 – I was putting away Lizzie’s shoes in her closet and I was bent over. Lizzie came behind me and pulled down on the back of my pants and I heard, “poopy Mommy?” I started laughing and I couldn’t get her to stop for the longest time, because of the laughter.

April 22,2009 – Lizzie has been saying big words lately that I didn’t even know that she knew. For the past few weeks she has been saying “Carefully” when we go down the stairs; when I was trying to tell Derek what she was saying I couldn’t remember so I said it’s a word that means Careful.

March 15, 2009 – Lizzie was playing on our bed and she fell off. Derek and I were sure she was about to cry with her 30 second delay, but instead she got up and said, “Bump!”

January 19, 2009 - Our second placosomus died, so I decided to suprise the boys with 3 little glow fish that atually glow pink in black light. When I got them home and the boys saw them, Derek over heard Ethan as he was walking up the stairs, "oh, I'm so excited, I'm so excited about my fish." I think he thanked me 5 times in a row.

January 15, 2009 – Ethan was helping me with a mural in the basement and he handed me green paint and said “Its kind of like what Heavenly Father made for your eyes, I gave you hazel”

January 13, 2009 – At school Ethan and Isaac dissected a fish, they told Derek and me about it the night before and we told them that guts were inside of a fish. Their teacher emailed me and told me this… When we talked about what was inside a fish today, the boys kept saying "guts" and Isaac turned to me, smiled, and whispered that you told him that.

January 8, 2009 – At school Ethan and Isaac were learning about fish and food. Mrs. Holmes read a story of sardines and then took out some sardines and Ethan and Isaac wanted to eat one, they got the other kids to want to eat one too.

January 2, 2009 - For Christmas the boys got a 5 gal aquarium from Grandma and Grandpa. They had 2 mickey mouse fish and a placosomus in the tank. The placosomus, named Scooby, died after 2 weeks because he went behind the heater and couldn't get out. The mickey mouse fishs, named Freddy and Daphny, lasted 2 weeks and one day. When I was going shopping for a replacement placosomus they were having quiet time in there room and they decided to see what Daphny felt like so they took both Freddy and Daphny out of the tank not realizing that it would kill them. When I got home Derek saw the mess of water in their room by the tank and asked them what had happened, they started telling him about taking the fish out and telling us how squishy they were and slimy. Needless to say that night when they were getting ready for bed, Freddy and Daphny were floating.
